Christianity developed out of Judaism as the promised Messiah came to earth. The Christian religion is founded on Jesus Christ who walked the earth as the Son of God . Within the religion there are what the church refers to as the sacraments to the believer. The sacraments are defined as outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace. They include baptism, Holy Communion, penance, confirmation, anointing of the sick and laying of hands, Christian marriage , and ordination. Christians are expected and critiqued according to the presence of the sacraments in his life.
